“ Popped into The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant (inside The Scottish National Gallery) as I wanted a quick something sweet and wanted the opportunity to try this restaurant as it looks lovely from the outside. It did not disappoint. Greeted by lovely staff as you walk in and quickly seated & served. All staff were very friendly & helpful. The ice-cream was very delicious and very generous with lots of fruit & chocolate brownie pcs with lashings of fruit coulis! Definitely going back to try more next time ”
“ A pleasant coffee, scone, cream and jam. We were served immediately by friendly and professional staff. The warm fruit scones were baked to melt-in-the-mouth perfection, the cream was fresh, smooth and just the right temperature for spreading and the jam tasted a little bit like decadence! Came away feeling that it was a lovely conclusion to a late morning stroll around Princes Street Gardens. Contented. The toilets were clean and well attended to. The prices weren't too bad for the centre of town. The quality of fare certainly had me thinking it was value for money. ”
“ Great place to have breakfast - been to Edinburgh twice and have come back to this place. I love the full Scottish breakfast - best haggis and black pudding and so tasty. After this meal, I’m good to explore and walk all over Edinburgh :) It’s about a 15 mins walk to Edinburgh Castle so please come by if you’re headed that way. The staff are friendly and polite too! ”
“ We are so happy to find this cafe. Very friendly service and delicious breakfast. The view is also amazing. ”
“ The gallery is a fantastic visit. Plenty of paintings by international artists that most haven’t seen. A double pleasure to have an excellent restaurant on site. The food is great - varied and modern. But also a big shout out to the staff. All intelligent, efficient and extremely friendly. Bonuses all round. ”
“ This was our second visit to this restaurant, having previously been for breakfast. The lunch menu was quite extensive with a varied choice of dishes available. The food was very good quality and nicely presented. The staff were all very pleasant and attentive. There are table situated beside floor to ceiling windows which offer delightful views of Princess Street Gardens and some stunning architecture. ”
“ Really nice inside. Service great and food was nice. Value /prices as expected for the location. Only complaint would be that we weren't offered any table water, ended up getting up to get it ourselves. ”
“ A favourite spot for breakfast in Edinburgh, have been visiting over the years on trips. Always consistent quality of food and drink. Polite and friendly staff. Beautifully furnished and kept clean and tidy. ”
